Daniel was born and brought up in Glasgow where he studied Law at the University of Glasgow. After several years practising in the criminal courts he moved to London where he worked as a lawyer in the oil industry. Following numerous postings overseas he finally settled in Australia with his family. He has always had a keen interest in Scottish history and in particular the infamous Darien Scheme. After detailed research he came to realise that this seminal episode had been woefully neglected in literature and set to put that to rights. This book is the first in a series dealing with the Darien Scheme and its fallout.

Daniel’s experience of working with The Writing Coach:
Working with The Writing Coach has been an absolute pleasure from start to finish. In the London office Jacqui Lofthouse and Jacqueline Smith have been totally professional and hugely supportive. Teaming me with Mark Leggatt as my mentor and professional assessor was the icing on the cake. He went above and beyond to help me get my book to a publishable standard. Without the team there is no doubt that I could not have reached my goal of publishing my debut novel.”
