Author of Heal Yesterday’s Trauma – Let go of lingering hurt from betrayal, abuse, harm or sadness
Published by Troubador, January 2024
A swan glides serenely across the water. White feathers preened to perfection. The curve of its neck held high. It is a picture of beauty. Yet, under the water, the view is very different. Large webbed feet on stumpy black legs work like pistons in a steam engine. It requires a massive amount of energy beneath the surface to make it look so easy from above.
There are so many swan-like people. From above, their life looks good. Sometimes, amazingly good. Yet hidden from sight is a pool of sadness, anger, shame, or anxiety. Heal Yesterday’s Trauma examines how trauma impacts on life and how so often the pain is hidden from view. Through client stories, tools and exercises, this book helps people understand how to work with their emotions and find their inner happiness.
Jennie’s experience of working with The Writing Coach:
I began working with Jacqui in 2016 when my book was half-written, and part of me wasn’t sure I would ever finish it. Jacqui, though, is an excellent coach. She encouraged me to keep going, yet also helped me see the structure of my book needed an overhaul. The thought of rejigging so much was daunting at the time, but I knew she was right. Later, Lindsay Hawdon read my book, providing me with more insights. In 2022, I joined Jacqui’s writing group, which was incredibly useful. Being part of this group, I finally began to see and believe that I could become a published author.
