Lucy Kaufman is an award-winning playwright, whose plays have been performed professionally around the UK and Australia, attracting full houses of audiences from far and wide and garnering 5-star reviews. Lucy’s work spans comedy, drama, historical biography, dark comedy, adaptations, monologues, musicals, short plays, site-specific and family theatre. She also writes novels and short stories, as well as scripts for screen and audio. Her audio drama was recently shortlisted by the BBC.
Lucy lectures in Playwriting and Screenwriting, most recently for Canterbury Christ Church University and LB Barking and Dagenham’s organisation Pen to Print, where she judges the audio play competition and is page editor and interviewer for Write On! magazine. As a counsellor/therapist for twenty years, Lucy combines her deep understanding of humans with her love of writing to mentor and nurture beginner and emerging writers and their work.
Lucy has an ability to grapple with complexity and see what needs fixing and how to fix it, along with a passion for presenting difficult concepts simply. She is delighted to join the team at The Writing Coach, as The Writing Coach has been an integral part of her own writing journey.
