We’re delighted to share some wonderful news about one of our writers. Natalie Gordon, who has been featured in The Telegraph! Natalie was also recently been shortlisted for the prestigious Libraro Prize.
A story of unlikely friendship – and a life-changing inheritance
The feature tells the remarkable story of how, back in 1987, Natalie struck up a friendship with an elderly couple, Pam and Ron, during a chance encounter on her way to school in Hampshire. What began as a regular chat over tea grew into a decades-long bond – one that included a rich exchange of letters right up until the couple’s deaths.
Astonishingly, when the couple passed away, Natalie discovered they had left her their house and its entire contents, including a treasure trove of letters they had written to each other during the Second World War. As the Telegraph piece puts it, the wartime letters spanned 1942 to 1946, each one beautifully written and filled with poetry and love.
Those letters became the inspiration for Natalie’s historical novel, Yours Everlasting. The novel is a fictionalised telling of Pam and Ron’s wartime romance. It is currently out on submission to agents and publishers, and was shortlisted for the Libraro Prize 2026.
The Libraro Prize describes the novel as:
